Event Description

Jharkhand is known around for the fairs and festivals that it holds every year. Some of the most popular fair of Jharkhand are the one’s that deal with livestock. There are around a dozen of fairs related to the same held in different parts of the state. One of the famous one’s is the Kolhaiya Mela held at Chatra.

The Kolhaiya Mela of Chatra is yet another cattle fair held at this place apart from the Kundri Mela. It is held every year on the day of Basant Panchami. People come here to sell and purchase cattles. The fair deals with cows, ox, buffalos, goats and sheep. The other fairs like this that are held here are Tutilawa Mela, Belgada Mela, and Lawalong Mela.
