Event Description

One of the most important and widely celebrated festivals of Nagaland is the Hornbill festival. The celebrations of the festival takes place between 1-7 December every year. The festival is majorly celebrated in Kisama Heritage Village of Kohima. The main purpose of celebrating this festival is to protect and promote the culture and heritage of the sixteen different tribal groups that are found in Nagaland. A variety of cultural programs are organized in the evening. Archery is one of the main sports of this day. All the tribal groups come together to celebrate this festival. It is one of the most colorful festivals of the state.
