Event Description

The festivals that are celebrated in Manipur are rich enough to exhibit the true culture and customs of the place. These festivals are majorly rejoiced by the tribal communities of Manipur. As many as 29 tribal communities live here. One of the major festivals celebrated here is the Gang Ngai Festival which is celebrated by the Kabui Nagas.

The festival starts with offering ritual to honor the ancestors. This is done on the first day of the five-day festival. The celebrations start with a omen taking ceremony. On the other days various cultural activities are organized that include dance and music performances. Along with this a feast is organized. By celebrating this festival the Nagas preserve and promote their culture.
