Event Description

The Feast of St. Xaviers is organized every year on the 3rd of December, on the day that St Francis Xavier was buried. He was prayed to for 9 days before burial. St Francis is said to be the Lord of Goa and is also referred to as Goencho Saib. Many activities are organized to honor his death.

Every year over 2 lakh devotees come over from across the globe to attend this feast. People from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Karnataka also take great interest in the feast.The usually peaceful and calm Goa turns into a rushy bushy one during he feast.
