Uttapam although is like dosa it is more like a pancake with toppings. It is also popularly known as Uthappa or ooththappam. The batter for the dish is made from urad dal and rice. The outer surface of the dish is crisp whereas the inner part of the dish is as soft as an idly. After te batter is prepared it hardly takes 5 minutes to mak the dish.
