Some of the dishes from Mizoram are very popular. These dishes are mostly made during festive occasions. One of the very popular dishes from the Bihu festival of Assam is Koat Pitha. It is a kind of a snack that is served along with a chutney. The preparation of the dish is very easy.
To make the dish, jaggery and mashed bananas are mixed. Rice flour is then wrapped around this mixture very carefully. On medium heat oil is heated and this pudding is added to it. The pitha is fried till it turns golden brown. Once done, they are removed from the oil and put on tissue paper to remove excess oil.
